"Throwing in the towel"

Yesterday evening we decided to quit further racing at the EC. Why? Simply put: we could not get the car to work to be competitive. We are still puzzled why because at the GP in June it was ok but even after one week of practice and qualifying we could not match our lap times from the GP.
We will now put the EC behind us and focus on the Swedish Championship .... :-)

Until next time

Back in business!

Well, now we have at least a good setup, still some small adjustments planned for next round. So, this means we will stay here until the race ends :-)

Some last minute changes...

If the car is not good enough you have to do something... so, yesterday evening we introduced some more flex in the car. Stay tuned and I will tell you how it worked out

And here is the lunch for today!

No! I was only joking. This is a cute little dog at the track

Until next time

WTF....

WTF is a good acronym to describe today... Finally we got a setup which was decent to drive. Still some understeer but not as bad as before. We felt confident for the first qualifier but that was ruined as it started to rain just as our heat was suppose to start, WTF describe the situation well. Now we just to hope that the weather will be good for qualifier 2-4.

Things are heating up!

This morning the process of tire impound started. The queue was building up and it took almost 1 hour to get the tires tested, marked and put into a platic bag... :-(
To no surprise there was an announement for an extra team managers meeting after the first practice round. And what was the news? It was revealed that the test could not detect all tire treatments..... So, a decision was taken to take away the tire impound but tire treatmemt is NOT allowed
This is now getting really embarrasing for EFRA. the only way to solve this in the future is with handout tires. That is my belief and I hope that SBF will send in such a proposal to EFRA AGM later this year

Until next time

Tire treatment story...

As seen at the WC i US and B-EC in Hildesheim tire impound is compulsary also at the EC in Luxembourg. Tire will be tested with a "tops" impregnated with an undisclosed chemical when tires are handed in. If the "tops" gets black in contact with the tire you have a problem... If disputed the tire will be split in two-halves (one for the driver and one for EFRA). EFRA will send the tire to a FIA lab. for inspection (after the race) If tire does consist of any tire treatment the driver will be banned for 5 years.... and the cost for the lab test, €2800, have to be payed by the driver....
We are allowed to reuse tires from previous run if handed in and retested! This is going to be really interesting because the tires will most probably pick up fuel, oil and other stuff. How will that impact the "tops" test..:-( Are we going to see future races at which you use one set of tires only once? If so, not the smartest way for this sport!!

Ok, enough will tire treatment sh-t... what other intetesting stuff have happened today? Well for our own part it is getting from bad to worse and what is even more annoying; we don't have a clue how to fix it.... Maybe this race will never start for us because if we can fix it we will go home.
A strange thing happend during the opening cermony. When the Italian team entered during the opening cermony non off them had any team shirt nor any car with them.... Hm, is this to be interpreted as a protest against EFRA? who knows...

How fast are the other guys on the track? Who knows, because there are not listings published... Not so nice especially if people home whould like to follow the event

Until next time

Rain has arrived

What a surprise.... After the first (of 5) pratice runs it started to rain... so now we are sitting here and can't do anything....

The hotshots arrived today and also the "våffelmungå"! So let us see what he will surprise us with this time....

From a race perspective we are going backwards ... :-( we though we were on the right way yesterday but the car was not good at the first practice this morning. Now we have rebuilt it to almost the same as during the EFRA GP some weeks ago. We only have to wait for the track to dry.... and that is soooo exciting...

Rumors says that there will tire impound again but without any method to analyse if tires have been treated what is the point...

Until next time!

Practice, practice

Same procedure as yesterday... more practice, practice... From a setup perspective we are heading in the right direction but still not good enough. More work to be done tomorrow.

So far no scandals, no "våffelmungo" so it is a little bit boring... :-)
The only small excitement was two drivers who happen to collide on the track continued to collide in the pitlane. It was not a wild guess to believe that it was on purpose. It got a little bit load on the rostroom and pitlane :-)

Hopefully we have some more interesting stuff to report about tomorrow.

Until next time,
Wolfgang/Marcus

Just another of those practice days

Today was the first practice day of the Euro's in Luxemburg. Not so much interesting to report about (I guess you are not interested in our setup mess...). The organisers have beefed up the event compared to the GP some weeks ago. We are only 2 Swedish drivers present (Marcus and Stefan). We heard that Franssons got problems with their car in North Germany and decided to go back home.

Until next time!

Early start this morning

04:00 morning we started from Trollhättan heading for Luxembourg. Some 1300km of boring driving....
And the weather was sh-t. Ok, no reason for being negative from the start. :-) As usual had to talk to myself or listen to the radio as Marcus was sleaping and snoring the first 500km so no difference to other travels.... While waiting for the ferry i Rödbyhamn some familiar faces showed up! The Berntsen holigans with Tryggve, Adrian and Stig plus Lars Haugen! Nice!!
After the ferry it was just the autobahn in front of us and try to kill as many km as possible in shortest amount of time... But WTF, it is a difficult equation considering roadworks, traffic jam, roadworks, roadworks, traffic jam..... :-(
After some pitstops (fuel in the car and we peeing) we arrived at the hotel 19:30. The hotel seems to be crowded with RC-drivers as there was a lot of known faces. Nice!!

And for those of you who are interested: "Våffelmungot" has not been seen yet... LoL!!

Until next time,
Wolfgang/Marcus
